LAN Telephony is the method of using the Local Area Network (LAN) to carry voice along with data traffic instead of using traditional telephone lines or a PBX. Each telephone on the LAN has its own network address and transforms audio signals to digitized packets for transmission across the LAN. When a call is received from outside the LAN, the call processor controls which network address receives the call and forwards the packets to that address. If a call originates within the LAN, the call processor determines if the packet is to be forwarded to another network address or to the PSTN, in which case the packets must travel through the local voice gateway.

What is more, SATE IT engineers continually work with suppliers and partners to install and maintain telephony system that meet or exceed requirements.
